Motherhood

“Becoming a mother has been the single most life-altering event of my life. Not only has it changed me; it has made me a better human being. When my first son was born and I looked into his little face for the first time I realized that my heart no longer belonged to me but it had split in two, the one half never to be returned. Foolishly I worried when my second son was born my heart might not be big enough to love him as fully as my first-born. But a miracle happened. My heart expanded and when my second son was born, my heart was able to give just as much. Being a mother is a blessing from Heaven and an honor that I do not take lightly. I am grateful everyday that I have been given the chance to experience motherhood.

As an artist, painting scenes from my everyday life comes naturally to me. It is what I do best. With my motherhood series I would like to express what motherhood means to me, to share my view of what I believe a mother is.”
